Spring Break: At the Hotel

Now imagine this scene at night (so the light is more dim) and also imagine it snowing outside. That’s right, the forecast that I posted below proved to be correct indeed! Let me tell you about what we did up ’till this point:

When we first left the house, we went straight to the library because my mom had to return some checked-out material. After realizing that we forgot a few things (pool-shoes), we went back home and picked the things that we needed up. My watch’s battery died around 3:00 yesterday afternoon. I asked my mom if we could stop by the mall (where there is a kiosk that fixes jewelry, replaces watch batteries, and other stuff like that. My mom had a few watch batteries that she needed to be replaced too.

During the half-hour wait, my mother and I went out to the car and got my sisters (who wanted to stay in the car in the first place) and told them that it would be a half-hour wait and they needed to come in. My mom was reluctant to let them stay in the car in the first place because there were a lot of suspicious waiting people waiting for the bus not too far away. So, they came in with us. My little sister and mom went to Sears to look at some of the clothes that they had on sale in front of the store while my sister and I went to Borders and read comic books until the watches were done.

From the mall, we went directly to the hotel. We left our stuff in the car when we went to check in; my mom said that we would get it later.

Now, before I tell you any more about our adventures, I need to tell you something. I saw a long and length review on some travel website saying a lot of negative things about the hotel. Things such as the elevator that they have in the newer wing is a death trap (it stalls a lot). They even said that it made a grown business man cry. They also said that the hotel staff formed a bias against their kids. At the check-in counter, there is a basket full of cookies. Those people said that when their family came in for the day, the hotel staff would hide the cookies behind the desk until they left the lobby. That’s all I’m going to say about the review, so back to the story now:
