Increasing the Power on My 2009 Dodge Ram 1500

One of the first things I wanted to do to my 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 2wd 5.7 hemi Crew Cab Big Horn Edition was to increase the power. Adding these performance parts really made a difference:

1. I first installed a Magnaflow cat back dual exit exhaust . This was a complete bolt-on system, which I installed in my driveway. The install took about 2 hours and was easy with clear instructions and details. When removing or installing the piping from the hangers, use WD40 (or similar lubricant) to make install easier. The outcome was better fuel economy, power, and tone. I am very pleased with the Magnaflow exhaust because it has a lower tone on acceleration, but when you get on the freeway for a long drive it doesn’t drive you nuts with a drone sound.

3. My last power adder was a Hypertech Max Energy Programmer . This was the easiest to install – it took less than 30 minutes. All I did was plug the programmer into my OBD2 port, select a few Yes/No answers, and the 15Hp/25FP torque was installed. The programmer is easy to read and very clear on adjustments.
